A notice for parents and guardians
Learn4Legacy is a family-learning service. A parent or legal guardian controls the family account and is expected to authorize a child’s learner profile. This notice focuses specifically on personal information that may be collected from or about children and students.
For privacy questions or requests about a learner, contact support@learn4legacy.com.
What a learner may provide
- Name, display name, age range or grade level, avatar, and family-approved profile information.
- Answers, assignments, scores, writing, drawings, worksheets, projects, and other schoolwork.
- Audio, video, photos, or files when a parent-enabled feature asks the learner to record, upload, or submit something.
- Messages or participation data in family-authorized classes, clubs, mentor, Pen Pal, or community features.
- Basic device, security, and activity information needed to keep the learner signed in, save progress, and operate the Service.
Why we collect it
We use learner information to provide the learning experience: save progress, grade or review work, personalize difficulty and support, create reports, issue rewards, let families review schoolwork, operate selected communication or live-learning features, maintain security, and provide technical support.
Parental consent and control
Children under 13 should not independently create or manage the adult family account. Parent or guardian involvement is required for learner setup. Before Learn4Legacy creates a new under-13 learner profile, the adult account holder must sign the Parent Privacy Authorization. Additional parent confirmation may be required later before certain protected optional features are enabled, including some Smart, community/live-learning, or camera/microphone/media features.
Parents can review and change optional Smart, community/live-learning, and media permissions from the Parent Privacy Center. A parent or guardian may also ask to review personal information collected from a child, request correction or deletion, revoke permission for future collection where applicable, or ask us to disable a learner feature. Some learning or account functions may stop working if the information needed for them is deleted.
No behavioral advertising from learner records
Learn4Legacy does not sell a child’s personal information for advertising and does not use grades, assignments, mastery records, or other protected learning activity to create a behavioral advertising profile.
Photos, voice and video
Camera and microphone features are optional unless a specific assignment or live activity requires them. Families can choose not to use an optional media feature. In live classes, the learner can still watch and listen when student media participation is off; audio talk-back is opened only under the parent-selected live-media setting and teacher classroom controls.
Learn4Legacy may record the teacher and the teacher’s shared instructional screen to create a reviewable lesson candidate. Student camera and microphone media are excluded from that reusable Creator lesson track by default unless a separate parent-facing permission expressly covers that use. Ordinary photos, video, and voice recordings are not used by Learn4Legacy as biometric identifiers for identification unless a separate feature expressly discloses that use and obtains any legally required consent.
Retention and deletion
Learner information is retained only as reasonably necessary for the learning service, family-requested academic records, safety, security, legal obligations, or another disclosed purpose. Parents may request deletion of a learner profile or specific personal information, subject to records Learn4Legacy is legally or legitimately required to retain.
School or organization use
If a school, co-op, district, or other organization provides Learn4Legacy to students, additional agreements and student-data laws may apply. Those organization-specific terms supplement this notice.
